Our Work
Volunteerism
Youth Today’s Volunteerism and Outreach Arm aims to provide volunteering opportunities for the youth of Antigua and Barbuda by creating meaningful and beneficial activities that will allow them to give back to our communities and environment. We envision continuous growth for the scope of our volunteerism opportunities through connecting with various organizations with different social responsibilities to provide and promote dynamic volunteerism amongst Antiguan and Barbudan youth.
Environmental Work
Various activities geared at protecting and maintaining the land and marine ecosystems in Antigua and Barbuda. These may include beach clean-ups, mangrove clean-ups, plastic recycling initiatives and more.
Community Outreach
Outreach programs designed to target aspects of our communities that may go unnoticed. Projects include volunteering at the soup kitchen, hosting donation drives, and more.
Collaborations
Planning initiatives with organizations or offering our support. In the past we have planned tree-planting activities with the Department of Environment and assisted the Soup Kitchen with serving meals to those in need.
Social Outreach
Social Outreach can be defined as an effort to educate or create projects based on common topics that affect members of our society.
Within this arm, we conduct research on social ills which occur in our society and address them through online campaigns and initiatives. Some of these topics include but are not limited to labour matters, mental health, environmental issues, and road safety. As a team, we are not only responsible for proposing and executing these campaigns or initiatives but to continue upholding the standards and image of the organization.
Professional Development
The Professional Development Arm within Youth Today is geared towards providing and creating opportunities for youth in Antigua and Barbuda to learn the necessary skills to succeed in their respective career fields.
Job Readiness Workshops
Workshops geared towards showcasing ways to successfully navigate the job application process; prepare resumes, cover letters, and ace their interviews while also learning the skills to navigate the working world and remain successful once they’ve landed the job.
Job Shadowing
Create opportunities for young persons to meet and network with professionals within their desired career field and gain the opportunity to gain working experience in a very demanding job market.
Youth Support
Creating a network focused on the promoting and providing opportunities of further development among Antiguan youth.
Mentorship
Creating opportunities unites for young people to speak and connect with young professionals and fellow students in the career field or field of study they are interested in.
